One of the stars the made the hit sitcom According to Jim, Kimberly Williams-Paisley first hit the world of Hollywood by starring as a pretty young bride in the comedy film franchise Father of the Bride and its sequel Father of the Bride II. While she found initial success with these movies, she felt that she needed to look for more substantial roles in order to avoid being stereotyped, thus Kimberly Williams-Paisley took up the role of Virginia in the NBC miniseries The 10th Kingdom.

Kimberly Williams-Paisley however found her biggest television break by starring as Dana in the ABC sitcom According to Jim, in which she played the role for seven years, 2001-2008. She departed from the series during the eighth season, but made a guest appearance for the show’s finale in 2009. Aside from this, Kimberly Williams-Paisley also acted in theater, as Sunny in the play The Last night of Ballyhoo replacing Arija Barejkis during its 1997-1998 run. She also appeared in the popular play The Vagina Monologues and All in Timing.

While being an actress, Kimberly Williams-Paisley also ventured into the world of filmmaking. She wrote and directed the short film, Shade which starred Patrick Dempsey. This was followed by Numero Dos, which was shown in New Orleans.

In 2006, Kimberly Williams-Paisley starred in the film How to Eat Fried Worms opposite Tom Cavanagh. The film was shot in Texas, as well as the coming of age comedy Eden Court. Her other movie credits include TV movies such as Safe House, Lucky 7 and The Christmas Shoes.

She also made guest appearances on TV shows such as Tales From the Crypt, Less Than Perfect, and the George Lopez Show.

Apart from being an actress and film director and producer, Kimberly Williams Paisley is also writer, and she has made contributions in magazines such as In Style and Redbook.
